FISIOLOGIA UMANA - PATOLOGIA UMANA E TERMINOLOGIA MEDICA
Module PATOLOGIA UMANA E TERMINOLOGIA MEDICA

Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: KATIA DOMENICA MANGANO

Expected Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course the student will understand the underlying causes and pathogenetic mechanisms of human diseases, as well as the etiology of the fundamental alterations of the structures, functions and mechanisms of control. They will also know the basic biological mechanisms of defence and their alterations. The course will develop from the molecular level to higher grades of organization (cell, tissue, organ, apparatus, organism)

Course Structure

Frontal lesson

Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus

According to the RDA, Article 12 - University Educational Credits (CFU), the standard 25-hour workload for a student, corresponding to one credit, may include: a) 7 hours dedicated to lectures or equivalent teaching activities and the remainder to individual study; b) at least 12 and no more than 15 hours dedicated to classroom exercises or equivalent supervised activities (workshops) and the remainder to personal study and revision.

Required Prerequisites

Passing the exam of physiology and knowledge of biology

Attendance of Lessons

Mandatory attendance according to the provisions of the Degree Course's teaching regulations in CTF as reported in the link: http://www.dsf.unict.it/corsi/lm-13_ctf/regolamento-didattico

Information for students with disabilities and/or learning disabilities (LDs)

To ensure equal opportunities and in compliance with applicable laws, interested students may request a personal interview to plan any compensatory and/or extenuating measures, based on their educational objectives and specific needs. Students may also contact the CInAP (Center for Active and Participatory Integration - Services for Disabilities and/or LDs) contact teacher in our Department, Professor Santina Chiechio.
