LABORATORY OF PHARMACEUTICAL BIOTECHNOLOGY - LABORATORY OF EXTRACTIVE AND SYNTHETIC PREPARATION OF DRUGS A - L
Module Laboratory of extractive and synthetic preparations of drugs

Academic Year 2022/2023 - Teacher: EMANUELE AMATA

Expected Learning Outcomes

Provide the concepts and general strategies of retrosynthetic analysis for the resolution of complex synthetic problems through rational analysis; provide a basic experience in purification methods, identification and characterization of reaction and extraction products.

Acquired skills: theoretical and practical knowledge concerning the synthesis of organic compounds endowed with pharmacological activity. Theoretical and practical knowledge on purification methods and identification of the synthesized compounds.

Course Structure

  • Frontal lessons 28 hours
  • Laboratory practice 30 hours

Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.

Class attendance is mandatory. The maximum limit of absences allowed is 30% of the total hours of lessons.

The final exam is written. Learning assessment may also be carried out on line, should the conditions require it.

Information for students with disabilities and / or SLD:
To guarantee equal opportunities and in compliance with the laws in force, interested students can ask for a personal interview in order to plan any compensatory and / or dispensatory measures, based on the teaching objectives and specifications needs. It is also possible to contact the CInAP contact person (Center for Active and Participatory Integration - Services for Disabilities and / or SLD) of the Department, prof.ssa Teresa Musumeci.
